Busy working & pitching

It´s been a while since we updated our blog. The reason is nothing to be ashamed of. Since the start in january 2008, the response to our business idea has been awesome, and we simply are super-busy putting together different band-members to solve our growing number of projects. We get invited to big pitches. Big companies would like us to be the dark horse in their round up of ad agencies. Especially when we tell them that we are not an ad agency, but a communication collective. Hopefully, some of this will soon lead to big, visable projects.

2008scandinavia picks up first creative award

2008scandinavia picks up its first creative award. The “Outdoor Price” for January. Client: Lego. Work: “Under construction”. A billboard built entirely out of small Lego-bricks, to celebrate the Lego-brick´s 50th anniversary. Each monthly winner competes for the big price at next years “Golden Pencil”-awards – “Outdoor idea of the year”.

Teknograd goes outdoor

Just a quick one: 2008scandinavia´s extremely popular campaign for Teknograd Mac Support finally moved outdoor in the end of january. Until now, the campaign has been made up of magazine ads and posters, so it felt good to be able to view the billboard at one of Oslo´s busiest underground stations.

2008scandinavia celebrates Lego´s happy 50

In the end of january 2008, Lego turned 50. To celebrate, 2008scandinavia constructed a billboard entirely out of small Lego bricks, and displayed it at premium shopping malls in Oslo, Norway. And yes, it took us a while to build. Thank god we are a band of communicators. Some of our youngest “band-members” from Westerdals School of Communication helped us out, and after two long nights, we were done. In every great project, there´s always an obstacle or two, and what we had not planned well enough, was transportation. Off course, the Lego-board was more than fragile. But after scratching our heads for a while we came up with a good solution, borrowed Motion Blur´s production van, and drove down to Aker Brygge Shopping mall at the crazy speed of 15 km/hour. Our friends in JCDecaux provided us with premium location, and there it was. Alive and well. We´re proud of the job, Lego is, and has always been, important for our creative development, and 2008scandinavia is happy to give Lego something back. It took us two cases of Lego Norway´s promo bricks to get this done, 8000 bricks. Now, we look forward to breaking it apart in a few weeks time. That´s something we´re going to put on tape. Stay tuned for the result.

2008scandinavia´s first digital work

Some weeks ago, 2008scandinavia was challenged to create Norli´s Antique Books first website. Norli´s Antique Books is a small store in downtown Oslo, full of great literature. When you walk in, you leave the modern world behind, and instantly, the pace slows down. The scent of old leather, paper and the carpet, which should have been vacuum cleaned every now and then, is like a spa for your mind. Then, you find an old book, sit down in one of the old chairs and start reading. It´s quiet, just you and your book and, and…how the hell are you going to transfer this feeling into an interesting digital idea? We sat down with our friends in the premium norwegian digital company Mediafront, and came up with this solution: www.norlisantiquebooks.com

Teknograd-campaign – the first attempt

Our campaign for Teknograd has become very popular. Thousands of people have visited 2008scandinavia.com to have a closer look. On the best day, 2600 people popped in, and today we´ll pass 5000 visitors. That´s pretty good after just 3 weeks in business and two campaigns. The Teknograd-campaign has excisted in our heads for quite some time. We did a little research job in our folders (which behaved nicely), and found the very first sketch. So, here we go, Teknograd, the very first attempt:bilde-1.png

Fat Belly – 2008scandinavia promotes new training and fitness center

Our client Oxygo recently launched the first in a string of new gyms. A hypermodern fitness and training center for ordinary people. No bodybuilders. No ears getting blown out by Slayer. A combined training and nutrition program can make life more enjoyable for even the laziest coach potato. This doublespread newspaper ad ran saturday the 19th of January, and we think it is quite relevant, simple and funny. (At least it made our girlfriends laugh.) First Campaign – updated version

Wow. 2008scandinavias first ever campaign for Teknograd is out there. In Brazil, Germany, Japan, China, USA, UK, Holland, France, Portugal, Canada…you name it. The feedback is very good, which makes us proud and inspired. However, after we let our dear Teknograd-campaign leave home for the first time, we discovered that we simply had forgot to name each folder in the illustrations individually. So here is the campaign again. Updated and better version. Magazine ads, outdoor, indoor posters.

Welcome to the band of communicators

2008scandinavia is a brand new creative communication collective. Our idea is simple. To offer modern advertisers a creative partner in constant change. Just like the world we live in.
